| National Antarctic Scientific Center (NASC) is the national operator of the Ukrainian State Antarctic Research Program. NASC organizes annual Antarctic expeditions and operates the year-round Antarctic Station Akademik Vernadsky. The ten years long-term Ukrainian State Antarctic Research Program provides the general guide for organization and coordination of scientific projects in Antarctica. This program is financed by the Ukrainian Government and provided under the auspices of the Ministry for Education and Science. |  |

NASC provides research at the Vernadsky Antarctic station. The Faraday Antarctic Base was transferred to Ukraine by UK British Antarctic Survey in February 1996 and was renamed to Akademik Vernadsky Station. More... |
