Valeriy Lytvynov

Candidate of Engineering, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology. Graduated Kharkiv Higher Aviation Engineering Military School and F. E. Dzerzhynsky Military Academy. Served his way from lieutenant to major-general, was deputy chief of the Plesetsk Space Centre, mayor of the town of Plesetsk. After returning to Ukraine he held the positions of chief of Space Rocket Armament Administration of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and deputy director of the National Space Agency of Ukraine. Since 1999 he heads the NASC. Participant of a number of Antarctic expeditions. Recipient of many governmental awards of the USSR and Ukraine.
